I had an older "Molly and Friends" for a long time. It held up extremely well and was the strongest cat tree I'd ever seen. It needed to be for my Maine Coon, a Maine Coon mix and several other large cats. After so many years, however, decided it needed a replacement.So, I went to local chain pet store and bought the largest cat tree they had. My large long bodied mixed cat (14 lbs. and not fat) took a leap on it and he went one way the the cat tree the other way! Not good. So, bit the bullet and bought the "Five Tier Scratching Post Funiture,Green/Beige" through Amazon. It is very sturdy and well built. I'll admit the finer finish was better on the old one but this one is still very nice. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars for this reason. Still better than other brands on the market.One problem if you have a large cat. My one remaining cat (a large, not fat with a little Maine Coon) can't fit easily through the cutout holes in the platform! (He struggles to get that last back leg through.) The holes are just not big enough. (No description gives size of platforms or the holes in them.) That makes it difficult for him to move up or down the platforms. My suggestion to "Molly and Friends" (and I'm going to try it) is that the rim be cut out of the platforms with holes. Just the part of the rim by the platform holes not the entire rim. That portion of the rim serves no purpose but to limit the size of the cat moving from one platform to another! Leave the remainder of the rim on each platform. After Christmas I'm going to try making that improvement.This is not a complaint about quality of the product. I think these are still the best quality cat trees on the market and recommend to others as well. I've also shared my feedback and suggestion with "Molly and Friends."
